Have you ever eaten goat cheese before?   As a child it was never something we had in the house so it wasn’t something I ever ate.   As an adult I started eating goat cheese on salads.   When we went to different restaurants it would come crumbled on top and I enjoyed the creamy, tangy flavor of it.  However, that was the only way I knew how to eat it. So a few years ago I started trying goat cheese in different dishes.  It turned out that goat cheese is great baked or cold!

Easy Goat Cheese Bites with Hot Pepper Jelly is a delicious appetizer

I’ve also found out that I like flavored goat cheese a little more then the original version.  That’s why I enjoy Joan of Arc goat cheese.  With flavors like Goat Cheese with Garlic and Herbs, Goat Cheese with Fig, and Goat Cheese with Sun-Dried Tomato and Basil it’s easy to find a flavor for every occasion.  Most recently I’ve been making appetizers with the flavored goat cheese.   They get really creamy when they are baked and taste amazing.

I made these Easy Goat Cheese Bites with Hot Pepper Jelly a few weeks ago for a party and my guests ate them up.   They looked so pretty and I know people though I spent a lot of time on them.  Little did they know that they are made in under 15 minutes!

I start with already baked phyllo dough cups and crumble the Joan of Arc Goat Cheese with Garlic and Herbs into the cups.  Then I put a dollop of homemade hot pepper jelly on top of the cheese and bake them.   Once they come out of the oven I sprinkle them with chives.  That’s it! These little bites just burst with flavor.  The phyllo cups are crisp and delicious and make the perfect vessel for holding the cheese.  The cheese gets really really and has a garlic herb flavor to it.  The hot pepper jelly adds both sweetness and spice to the bites and the chives add just a touch of flavor.
