Winters in our town are cold and snowy.   We often have snow from November until April and it’s not only cold outside but it gets chilly in our house too.   Since we moved into our current house we’ve been loving the fireplace.    My husband makes fires in the fireplace about 5 nights a week and I love it.

One of my favorite things to do after a crazy day at work is to sit in front of the fire with a cup of Bigelow Tea.   There’s something comforting after warming myself in front of the fire while I warm my insides with some of my favorite flavors of tea including Constant Comment and Salted Caramel.  Not only do they taste delicious but they smell amazing as well.   It really helps me to unwind when I sit in front of the fire with my cup of tea at the end of the evening.

As you may know I am a special education teacher.   At this time of the year kids start bringing in gifts to share with their favorite teachers.  Since I work with all of the teachers in the school I generally like to give them a small gift as well.  This year I’m sharing the warm, comforting taste of Bigelow Tea with my teacher friends.

While I’m a teacher sharing this gift with another teacher it would also be a great gift for a child to give to their teacher.  I’ll be honest, I’d be more then happy to receive a holiday tea basket from one of my students.   You can make your own “tea-rrific” holiday gift with just a few simple items that can be found at Walmart.   It’s a one stop shop for everything you need to make this gift basket including a huge selection of Bigelow Tea.

What to Buy:

-2 mugs

-2 boxes of your favorite Bigelow Tea (I chose Constant Comment and Salted Caramel)

-1 jar of honey

-A package of scone mix (I made my own but you can buy prepackaged)

-Colored Cellophane

-Red or Green ribbon

1.  To make the gift basket place one of the boxes of Bigelow Tea in one of the mugs.   Place the honey and scone mix inside of the other mug.

2.  Cut a large piece of cellophane.  Place the other box of Bigelow Tea in the middle of the cellophane.   Place the mugs on top of the box of tea.

3.   Carefully pull the cellophane up around the sides of the mugs and pull together at the top.   Tie with a red or green ribbon.

4.  Using card stock and markers, have your child write “You are tea-rrific!” on the cardstock.   Attach it to the gift basket using the ribbon or a few pieces of tape.   Tie the ribbon in a bow and give to your favorite teacher.
