I get cold so easily.  As I live in a town called Frostburg, you can imagine it gets cold here all winter long.  In fact, we pretty much have winter in this area from October until April and it’s freezing!  In order to help me stay warm, I’m always drinking hot beverages.  While I enjoy regular hot chocolate, sometimes I want something a little fancier and that packs a bit of a punch.

Spiked Candy Cane White Hot Chocolate is perfect for a cold winters night.
This spiked candy cane white hot chocolate is a gorgeous pink color and tastes amazing with flavors of peppermint and white chocolate.  It’s perfect to serve at holiday parties or for a winter cocktail party because it’s pretty and delicious.  Serve it with a bit of whipped cream and crushed candy canes on top for a festive look.

Spiked Candy Cane White Hot Chocolate (a Hezzi-D original)
2 c. milk
2 candy canes
¼ c. white chocolate chips
Red food coloring
1 oz. white chocolate liqueur
1 oz. peppermint schnapps
Whipped cream

1.  Place the candy canes in a baggie and crush them.  I like to use our crab hammers to crush them.
2.  Heat the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat.  Add in about ¾ of the crushed candy cane as well as the white chocolate chips and a drop or two of red food coloring.  Heat until the candy canes and chocolate have melted.
3.  Heat the milk until it is steaming but not boiling.  Remove from heat and pour into a mug.
4.  Add in the white chocolate liqueur and peppermint schnapps and stir well.
5.  Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with crushed candy canes.
