I have been craving sweets all month long.  I’m not sure what is going on.   I’m usually the person that can bake desserts all weekend long and never take a bite of a single one.  This month that’s been different.  I’ve been taking a bite of everything!

I love the smell and flavor of these Baked Apples with Chocolate and Caramel in the fall!

Maybe it’s because the air is getting chilly and something warm straight from the oven is super inviting.   It might also be because most of the desserts I’m making are apple or pumpkin which are my favorite flavors.   It could also be because I’m stressing at work.  Even though we’ve only been in school 6 weeks I’m already stressing.

Everything you need to make Baked Apples with Chocolate and Caramel!

In any case, I’ve been wanting something sweet 3 or 4 days a week.  However, I don’t always have time to whip up a cake or a batch of cookies.   Even when I do have time I don’t want to make them because we’ll eat them all.   So I’ve been looking for an easy to make and delicious dessert that isn’t crazy bad for me.

Baked Apples stuffed with caramel and chocolate

These Baked Apples fit the bill.    They are sliced in half and the middle of the apples are hollowed out.  Apples are healthy and it’s one of the flavors I’ve been wanting so this is a good thing.   Then I fill the centers of the apples with caramel and bake.  Once the caramel was melted I topped it off with a few chocolate chips and let those melt as well.

Fall is screaming for these Baked Apples with Caramel and Chocolate

These Baked Apples with Caramel and Chocolate are so good!  The apples are warm and soft and spiced.   The caramel and chocolate in the middle isn’t overwhelming but adds a delicious sweetness to them.  I like to put a touch of whipped cream on top as well.  Then you can sprinkle it with cinnamon or a drizzle of caramel.

Grab a spoon and dig into this incredible Baked Apple filled with caramel and chocolate then topped off with whipped cream and caramel!

This is a great dessert when unexpected company shows up because it only takes a few minutes to make and it makes the kitchen smell amazing.   It’s also great for cold nights when you just want something a little sweet.  You can make as many or as few as you want and it’s such a tasty treat!
