I always feel like Valentine’s Day is the start of the late winter/early spring holidays.  It goes from Valentine’s Day to Mardi Gras to St. Patrick’s Day to Easter.  They all happen within about 2 months and they are all foodie holidays.  That means I start working on my holiday food around mid-January.

When Valentine’s Day rolls around I always make my typical desserts for the kids at school but I also have to work on desserts for two family members.   This year my great aunt will be turning 96 on Valentine’s Day.  She likes having a birthday cake that has a Valentine’s Day theme since that is her birthday.  I also work on a chocolate laden dessert for my godson who turned 15 at the beginning of February.

Conversation Heart Sugar Cookie Bark is a fun and easy Valentine's Day treay!

This dessert was for the kids at school and it was so easy to make.  I simply use a sugar cookie mix for the base of it.   You can also use refrigerated cookie dough and just press it into the bottom of the pan.  It makes this recipe a snap.

Once the sugar cookie cools white chocolate is poured over top of the cookie.   Then conversation hearts and sprinkles are poured over top of the cookie.  Everything sits until the chocolate has firmed up and then it is either broken or cut into pieces.

I ended up cutting the cookie into random pieces.   I took them to school for the students.  They loved them!  They had fun reading the hearts and eating the cookie.  One thing we found was that it was hard to pull the hearts off of the cookie since it was stuck in the chocolate and for some reason all of the kids wanted the hearts off to eat separate.

A layer of white chocolate, conversation hearts, and sprinkles makes this Sugar Cookie Bark perfect for Valentine's Day!

I thought these were sweet and tasty.  I liked the white chocolate paired with a sugar cookie.   I also liked how easy these were to make.  They were fun and it would be great for kids to help decorate them!
