I’m still on the quest for the perfect pork chop recipe.  I’ve made so many pork chops over the past few years and while many of them are good, I still haven’t found one that I want to make again and again.  Pork isn’t my husbands favorite meat either so I’ve really been looking for something that we’ll both enjoy.

When I saw the photo of these Garlic Parmesan Pork Chops I couldn’t wait to make them.  It looked like these chops were covered in garlic, parmesan, and butter which sounded amazing.   I couldn’t wait to try them out.

I put them on the menu for the very next week.   I was a little concerned about the amount of butter on the pork chops so I reduced it in half.  It turned out that was a very good idea.  To make the Garlic Parmesan Pork Chops I simply had to put the chops in a hot saute pan to get them a little color and then rub on the garlic butter Parmesan mixture.

The pork chops then finished off in the oven.  My problem was that my pork chops didn’t look anything like the ones in the photo.  I was a little disappointed because the pork chops in the photo looked so good.  The butter and parmesan were crusted on the pork chops in that picture but most of the garlic parmesan butter ended up in the pan with my pork chops.

I decided to broil the pork chops at the end to try and get a bit of a crust on them.  It helped somewhat but my pork chops didn’t look very pretty.  However, they did taste good.   They had a great flavor of garlic and butter and salty Parmesan.  I just wished they looked better.

Next time I’m going to go with even less butter and maybe up the amount of Parmesan and chives in the dish.   Either way, these ended up tasting delicious and I did eat two of them for dinner!  I can’t wait to try this recipe again.
