I’ve always heard that eating late at night is what causes weight gain because it sits in your stomach all night long. This book starts out by debunking 4 eating myths including that you shouldn’t eat at night. In fact, Joel shares several studies that were done where the results show that people eating heavier meals later at night lose more weight.
Since I’m a late night snacker this quote from the book really hooked me. “Late-night eating also curbs calorie intake the next day. In a four-week study, dieters added a snack to their daily regimen 90 minutes after dinner every night, and check this out: late-night eaters ate an average of 397 fewer calories per day.” I love having a snack after dinner but before bed because I feel full and I think I sleep better so this was great news for me.
