Last week I found out that I got to host a Debbie Macomber Books and Brunch House Party! As you know, there isn't much I love more then books and food. This party combined both into one fun brunch!
Have you heard of author Debbie Macomber? If not you need to get to the store and buy one of her books! With more than 170 million copies of her books in print, Debbie Macomber is one of today's most popular authors. She writes heartwarming tales about small-town life, home and family, enduring friendships and women who knit. All of her books feature a sense of humor and a wonderful cast of characters.
Not only do I enjoy Debbie Macomber's books, I think she's an amazing woman. You see, Debbie is dyslexic and didn't learn to read until she was in the 5th grade. Being a special education teacher I see this way too often but Debbie's success gives me hope for many of my students that struggle to read everyday because of a learning disability.
For the party I received a wonderful Party Pack from HouseParty that included Salem Baking Company's Moravian cookies, Ambessa by Harney & Sons Choco Nut Blend Tea, 12 autographed copies of The Inn at Rose Harbor by Debbie Macomber, a signed copy of Starting Now by Debbie Macomber, a Supima Crew Cardigan from Land's End, a DVD trailer and a sneak peek of "Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove", and lots of other fun stuff for the party!
I didn't have to think for a second to know who I was inviting to the brunch. My book club meets every month and we hadn't set a date yet for March. I invited all of the ladies and was delighted that they were all available! We had a wonderful brunch full of food, tea, coffee, cookies, plenty of chatting about Debbie Macomber and her books, and just a great time in general.
We didn't have time to read The Inn at Rose Harbor before the book club but we are making it our pick for next month. Now that everyone has a copy there's no reason not to read it! Special thanks to both HouseParty and Debbie Macomber for the wonderful Party Pack and the opportunity to host a book brunch with some of my favorite people.
Want to learn more about The Inn at Rose Harbor? Here's the synopsis of the book:
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber comes a heartwarming new series based in the Pacific Northwest town of Cedar Cove, where a charming cast of characters finds love, forgiveness, and renewal behind the doors of the cozy Rose Harbor Inn.
Jo Marie Rose first arrives in Cedar Cove seeking a sense of peace and a fresh start. Coping with the death of her husband, she purchases a local bed-and-breakfast—the newly christened Rose Harbor Inn—ready to begin her life anew. Yet the inn holds more surprises than Jo Marie can imagine.
Her first guest is Joshua Weaver, who has come home to care for his ailing stepfather. The two have never seen eye to eye, and Joshua has little hope that they can reconcile their differences. But a long-lost acquaintance from Joshua’s high school days proves to him that forgiveness is never out of reach and love can bloom even where it’s least expected.
The other guest is Abby Kincaid, who has returned to Cedar Cove to attend her brother’s wedding. Back for the first time in twenty years, she almost wishes she hadn’t come, the picturesque town harboring painful memories from her past. And while Abby reconnects with family and old friends, she realizes she can only move on if she truly allows herself to let go.
A touching novel of life’s grand possibilities and the heart’s ability to heal, The Inn at Rose Harbor is a welcome introduction to an unforgettable set of friends.
