I don’t know about you but I’ve found that dinnertime with a toddler isn’t always the easiest thing. J is a bit of a picky eater but he can always be counted on to eat three things. He loves chicken, pasta, and fruit. The only problem is that while he happily eats these things I have a hard time getting him to eat vegetables.
That’s where CAULIPOWER Chicken Tenders come in. CAULIPOWER Chicken Tenders have a coating this packed with cauliflower and other gluten-free goodness! That means J can get a bit of veggies in with his chicken and he will never know the difference! Plus, our family can eat the entire bag for a total of only 490 calories. That’s crazy enough to have you saying no cluckin’ way!
I found these chicken tenders in the freezer aisle at my local Walmart store. They were in the frozen organic section. As I was reading the ingredients I was impressed that they are made with premium chicken that are all-natural, raised with no antibiotics ever, and cage-free. In addition to being made with delicious chicken they have 86% less fat than any other chicken tender or nugget.
There were two different types of CAULIPOWER Chicken Tenders so I bought a bag of each to try. They come in Original and Spicy. I was surprised to find that these are the only BAKED (not fried) chicken tender in the freezer aisle. I couldn’t wait to get home to try them.
Once I got home I put half a bag of original and half a bag of spicy on a baking sheet and popped them in the oven. They take about 15 minutes to cook so I was able to baked french fries along with them and have everything done at the same time. I was anxious to see if my son would eat them.
The CAULIPOWER Chicken Tenders ended up being tasty, juicy, and baked to crispy golden perfection. I served them with ranch and BBQ dipping sauce. My husband and I tried the spicy ones first. I find that many mass produced products that say they are spicy really aren’t but these chicken tenders are an exception. My husband and I were both surprised by how spicy they were but we both really liked them. In fact, my husband asked to see the bag so he could share them with a friend of his that is gluten free.
The real test came when I put the chicken in front of my toddler. He looked at the chicken, picked it up, and turned it in his hands. After a minute he tasted it and then popped a bite into his mouth. A moment later he put in another piece and we called this a big success. My entire family enjoyed the CAULIPOWER Chicken Tenders and I’m sure we’ll be buying them again soon!
