Double Chocolate Red Wine Bread
  • 1 stick butter, room temperature
  • ½ c. brown sugar
  • ½ c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ¾ c. sweet red wine (I used Gallo Family Vineyards Sweet Red)
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 1¼ c. flour
  • ½ c. cocoa powder
  • 1 t. baking powder
  • 1 t. salt
  • ½ c. chocolate chips
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray 3 small loaf pans with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl combine the butter, brown sugar, and sugar. Mix until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing until combined.
  3. Add in the red wine and vanilla and mix until combined.
  4. In a medium bowl combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix well.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips. Fill the small loaf pans ½-3/4 of the way full. Place the paper loaf pans on a baking sheet and bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. (If you are making the bread in a regular sized loaf pan bake for 1 hour).
  7. Remove from the oven and cool on a wire rack.
