Herb and Garlic Compote Butter

Serves: 8 tablespoons compote butter
Herbs and garlic turn butter into a delicious steak topper.
  • 8 tablespoons salted butter, softened
  • ¼ c. fresh herbs, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • ½ t. black pepper
  • 2 Strip Steaks, grilled to medium (we used Certified Angus Beef Bran)
  1. Place the softened butter in a medium bowl and mash with a spoon.
  2. Add in the herbs, garlic, and pepper and mix well until combined.
  3. Place the butter on a sheet of parchment paper and shape into a log.
  4. Twist the parchment paper around the butter and twist the ends. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 5 days.
  5. When ready to eat, remove the butter from the refrigerator and cook the steaks on a hot grill to medium.
  6. Unwrap the butter and slice. Place a slice on top of each grilled steak.
