Steakhouse Salads with Homemade Ranch Dressing

You don't have to go to a steakhouse to get a delicious steak salad topped with french fries, vegetables, caramelized onions, and homemade Ranch dressing!
For the marinade:
  • 2 T. brown sugar
  • 3 T. soy sauce
  • 1 T. balsamic vinegar
  • 1 T. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1 t. black pepper
  • 1½-2 lb. London Broil (Certified Angus Beef Brand if you can find it)
For the Ranch dressing:
  • ½ c. light mayonnaise
  • ½ c. light sour cream
  • ½ c. milk (buttermilk preferred)
  • 1 T. fresh parsley or 1 t. dried parsley, minced
  • 1 T. fresh chives, minced
  • 1 t. onion powder
  • 2 t. garlic powder
  • 1 t. sea salt
  • 1 t. black pepper
  • 2 T. lemon juice
For the salad:
  • 1 head lettuce, chopped
  • ½ c. bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, caramelized
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 4 strips of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • ¼ c. mozzarella cheese
  • 3 T. blue cheese
  • 2 T. croutons
  • 8 oz. skinny french fries, cooked
  1. Combine all the ingredients for the marinade in a shallow container with a lid. Add in the London Broil, cover, and marinate for 4 hours.
  2. To make the Ranch dressing combine all ingredients in a Mason jar, put the lid on, and shake it vigorously. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  3. To make the salads place the lettuce, peppers, onion, and carrots in a large bowl and toss.
  4. To make the steak heat an outdoor grill over high heat. Place the London Broil on the grill and cook for 3 minutes on one side and then flip. Continue cooking over direct heat until the internal temperature reaches 135. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.
  5. To make the salads divide the lettuce mixture between four plates. Divide the bacon, cheeses, and croutons between the four plates.
  6. Pile steak and fries on top of each salad and pour the homemade Ranch dressing over top.
