Serves: 2 cups
Fresh Cherries dried in the oven for hours to make homemade dried cherries.
  • 2 lb. cherries
  1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees.
  2. Remove the stems from the cherries and use a cherry pitter to remove the pits.
  3. Place a silicone baking mat or parchment paper on a baking sheet. I needed 2 baking sheets for the 2 pounds of cherries.
  4. Place a wire cooling rack on top of each baking sheet and arrange one pound of cherries on each. Make sure there is space in between each cherry.
  5. Bake for 4 to 4½ hours or until the cherries look withered and dried.
  6. Remove from the oven and cool for 30 minutes.
  7. Place in a jar with a lid or an air tight container.
