One of the things I love best about the house we currently live in is our big pantry in the hallway.   I love being able to store all of my baking supplies in one place.  I’m not afraid to admit that I have a lot of baking supplies.  There are sprinkles, cupcake liners, food coloring, decorations, cake tips, and a lot of other stuff.

Sometimes on the weekends I just open up the door and look in to get some inspiration.  Sometimes an item will jump out at me and other times I’m just not feeling it.   A few weeks ago my son actually opened the doors and started playing with my cookie cutters.  While played in them he pushed the door open and a package of miniature gingerbread men fell out.  I forgot I had them and inspiration hit immediately.

Everything you need to make Gingerbread Spice Caramel Lattes

I went right into the kitchen to get started on a hot gingerbread beverage. The gingerbread flavor isn’t too hard to make.  It’s mostly just molasses, sugar, and ginger, all of which I had.   I began forming a plan and this awesome Gingerbread Spice Caramel Latte started taking shape.

The base of the latte is strong coffee and milk.   Then I made the gingerbread flavor from ginger, cinnamon, and molasses.  I added in caramel sauce, sea salt, and vanilla to give it additional flavor.   While it was heating up the entire kitchen filled with the scent of spices.

Once the latte was heated up I poured it into my fun Caleo Insulated Espresso Cups from JoyJolt.  I love the way these mugs look and they keep beverages warm for a long time.  I then topped off my latte with Cabot Whipped Cream, a caramel drizzle, and the little gingerbread men.   I seriously couldn’t help laughing at how darn cute this beverage looked!

How fun are these tiny gingerbread men in this Gingerbread Spice Caramel Latte?

The sweetness from the caramel and the spiciness from the gingerbread made for a delicious latte.  The coffee flavor was there but it definitely wasn’t overpowering.   The whipped cream and caramel drizzle added a bit of creaminess and flavor and the little gingerbread men were just adorable.   This is the perfect beverage for sitting inside and watching it snow this holiday season.
