I love retro recipes! It's so fun to go back through older cookbooks and look at what people used when cooking. I recently asked a friend who is a food enthusiast and was alive in the 60's and 70's what his favorite retro recipes were and he came up with Clams Casino, Shrimp Cocktail, Salad with Green Goddess Dressing, and Crepes Suzette. Hearing his favorite retro recipes really got me thinking of my own favorites.
This week Sunday Supper is sharing our favorite retro recipes from the 1950's, 1960's, and 1970's. I am very excited to participate even though I wasn't born until after these recipes were popular...and no I'm telling you when I was born. However, my husband was alive for some of these and he helped me come up with a few recipes myself. I finally decided on Tunnel of Fudge cake which was the runner up at the 1966 Pillsbury Bake-Off. I can't wait to share it with you on Sunday!
