Easy Brined Turkey Recipe

Brining a turkey is an easy way to give it plenty of flavor and to keep  it moist while baking.  This will be your new favorite Thanksgiving  turkey!

-turkey -brown sugar -salt -orange -fresh cranberries -fresh herbs -lemon -peppercorns

ingredients

Place the turkey in a large bag with lemons, oranges, cranberries, and herbs on top.

Fill the bag with water and add in the sugar and salt.   Let sit in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours.

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.   Drain the turkey and rinse it with cold water.  Place the turkey in a roasting pan.

Roast for 3-4 hours.   During the last hour baste with herbs and butter every 15 minutes or so.  Cook until the turkey reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees.

Remove from oven and let rest for 15-20 minutes before carving.
