Yummy Yeast Rolls

Yeast Rolls that are slightly sweetened with brown sugar but stay savory with plenty of herbs.

Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 3 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 package quick rise yeast
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 3/4 c. warm water
  • 2 teaspoons butter melted
  • 1 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoons thyme
  • 1 teaspoons sage
  • 1 teaspoons oregano

Instructions

  • In a large bowl combine 1 1/2 cups of flour with the brown sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix well.
  • Add the water, butter, garlic, thyme, sage, and oregano and mix until smooth.
  • Stir in enough additional flour to form a soft dough.
  • Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes or until the dough is smooth.
  • Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.
  • Roll the dough to 3/8 inch thickness and cut with 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutters (or a greased glass).
  • Place the biscuits on a greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart.
  • Cover the biscuits and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Bake the biscuits for 11-14 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Cool on a wire rack.
