Air Fryer Almond Chicken

Crispy almond coated chicken dipped in an egg and buttermilk mixture then rolled in almonds and breadcrumbs and air fried until golden brown and crispy.

Ingredients

  • 4 small chicken breasts about one pound or a little more
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. slivered almonds finely chopped
  • 1/3 c. breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • In a shallow bowl combine the egg and buttermilk and whisk until combined.
  • In another shallow bowl combine the almonds, breadcrumbs, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees. Spray the basket with cooking spray.
  • Dip the chicken into the egg mixture and then press into the almond mixture. Place in the air fryer basket so that the chicken breasts do not touch.
  • Spray the chicken breasts with cooking spray and cook for 16-20 minutes or until the temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees.
