Ingredients

  • 1 2 liter plastic bottle of Coke
  • scissors or a pen knife
  • red paint
  • white paint
  • black paint
  • 50 cotton balls
  • Mod Podge
  • paintbrushes

Instructions

  • Pull the wrapper off of the plastic bottle and then wash and dry the bottle.
  • Using the knife or scissors, puncture a hole about 1/4 of the way down the bottom. Cut around in a circle to make the top of the cookie jar. I used the pen knife to poke a few holes then cut with the scissors.
  • Using a paint brush, paint the entire top part of the bottle red. Set aside.
  • Using a paint brush, paint the front and sides of the bottom part of the bottle white. Set aside.
  • Take 5 cotton balls and pull them apart until they are triple the size of a regular cotton ball.
  • Using the Mod Podge and a paintbrush, paint the bottom part of the "hat". Quickly place the pulled apart cotton balls on the hat, forming the white part of the hat. Set aside to dry.
  • Use the Mod Podge and the same paintbrush to paint down one side of the white paint. Press on cotton balls. Repeat with the other side of the white paint. Put one more column of cotton balls on each side.
  • Using the black paint, make 2 black eyes in the middle of the white paint.
  • Using the red paint, make a red nose.
  • Take 1 cotton ball and pull it apart until it is thin. Using the Mod Podge, glue this underneath the red nose for Santa's mustache.
  • Using the red paint, make a red mouth.
  • Take the Mod Podge and paint underneath the red mouth and glue on the cotton balls for the rest of Santa's beard.
  • Place a bit of Mod Podge on top of the cap and top with a cotton ball for the top of Santa's hat.
  • Allow to dry for 30 minutes.
  • Place the hat on Santa's head and use as a cookie jar!
