Ingredients

  • 2 packages pre-made pie crust
  • 1 c. prickly pears diced
  • 2 Tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg beaten

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
  • Trace your hand with a toothpick and cut out four hands from the pie crust . Place on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush egg over the edges and the fingers of two dough hand.
  • In a bowl toss the prickly pear, sugar, and vanilla.
  • Spoon half of pie filling in center of each hand. (I had a lot of leftover filling).
  • Top with the remaining two dough hands, pressing edges of hands together with a fork. Use a paring knife and add details to the hands to make it look as realistic as you possible. Brush with egg.
  • Bake until golden brown, 16 to 18 minutes. Filling may ooze out and that's ok. Cool on the pan for 10 minutes before serving. Chop in half and serve
