Ingredients

For the Fruit Salad:

  • 2 green apples cored and chopped into small pieces
  • 2 red apples cored and chopped into pieces
  • 1 cup grapes cut in half
  • 3/4 c. dried cranberries
  • 3 navel oranges or clementines peeled and sectioned
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 lemon

For the Dressing:

  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup granulates sugar
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • zest of 1 orange
  • zest of 1 lemon

Instructions

  • Place the pecans in a skillet over medium heat. Cook, stirring every minute or so, until the pecans have toasted and you can smell their nutty smell. This will take 7-10 minutes. Remove from heat and cool.
  • In a small saucepan combine the orange juice, sugar, apple pie spice, lemon zest, and orange zest. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • In a large serving bowl add the red and green apples. Squeeze the juice of a lemon over top of the apples so that they do not brown.
  • Cut each orange segment in half and add to the bowl.
  • Add in the grapes, cranberries, and pecans and mix to combine.
  • Pour the dressing over top of the fruit and toss to coat.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
