Ingredients

For the brownie dough:

  • 5 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 c. brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For the chocolate chip cookie dough:

  • 5 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 c. mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a medium bowl cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar for the brownies. Add in the egg and vanilla and mix well. Set aside.
  • In a medium bowl combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
  • Add the cocoa powder mixture to the butter mixture and mix until just combined. Place in the refrigerator while you make the chocolate chip cookie dough.
  • In a medium bowl cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar.
  • Add in the vanilla and egg and mix well. Set aside.
  • In a medium bowl combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
  • Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix well. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Remove the brownie batter from the refrigerator.
  • Take a half inch piece of each batter and press together. Flatten the cookie and place it on a cookie sheet. Make sure cookies are 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-11 minutes then remove from the oven. Cool on the cookie sheet for 2 minutes then remove to a wire rack.
