Brown Butter Triple Chip Cookie Bars

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 c. butter 2 sticks
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla or butter vanilla bakery emulsion
  • 2 c. chocolate chips milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and white chocolate

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • Spray a 9 x 13 pan with cooking spray and set aside.
  • In a large bowl combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix well and set aside.
  • Place the butter in a medium skillet or saucepan over medium high heat. Swirl the pan occasionally while the butter is melted until it begins to brown. Keep swirling or stirring until it begins to smell nutty and you can see it browning. Remove from heat and cool 10 minutes.
  • Combine the butter, brown sugar, and sugar in a large bowl. Mix well. Add in the eggs and mix until combined. Stir in the vanilla or butter vanilla emulsion.
  • Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix to combine.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Spread the mixture into the prepared pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes or browned.
  • Remove from oven and cool completely. Cut into 24 pieces.
