Chocolate Chip Scones

Buttery scones are studded with chocolate chips.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup salted butter cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup chocolate milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  • In a large bowl combine the flour, sugar, and baking powder. Mix well.
  • Add the butter and use your fingers to mix it into the flour mixture until it resembles wet sand.
  • Add in the milk and vanilla and mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Form the dough into a circle that is about an inch thick. Cut the dough into 8 wedges.
  • Place the scones on a baking sheet 2-3 inches apart. Bake for 15-18 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and cool on a wire cooling rack.
