Crumbl Sugar Cookies

This cookierecipe is made with a soft and buttery cookie topped with a sweet almond frosting.

Ingredients

For the cookies:

  • 1 c. butter 2 sticks
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

For the Frosting:

  • 1/2 c. butter 1 stick
  • 3 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 Tablespoons milk
  • neon pink food coloring

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large bowl cream together the butter and sugar.
  • Add in the eggs, vanilla, and almond extract. Mix well.
  • Add in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  • Scoop 3 tablespoons of dough at a time and roll into a ball. Place 3 inches apart on the baking sheet. Use the bottom of a drinking glass and press down on the center of the cookie dough.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the centers of the cookies have puffed up.
  • Remove from the oven and cool 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • To make the frosting cream the butter in a large bowl.
  • Add in the powdered sugar and mix until smooth. 
  • Add in the almond extract, milk, and 4 drops of pink food coloring and whisk until desired consistency is reached.  
  • Spread on cooled cookies.
