Cut the bacon into 1 inch pieces. Add the bacon to a skillet over medium heat.
Saute for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the bacon has browned. Remove to a paper towel lined plate.
Remove all but 2 tablespoons of bacon grease from the pan. Return the pan to medium heat and add the shallot and garlic. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently so that it does not burn.
Add the green beans to the pan and cook for 3-5 minutes or until heated through.
Add the butter, salt, and pepper, and heat until the butter has melted.
Stir in the bacon and cook for 2 minutes.
Remove from heat and serve immediately.
