Quick and Easy Green Bean Skillet

This Quick and Easy Green Bean Skillet is an easy and delicious side dish that's easy enough for a weeknight meal but fancy enough for a holiday meal!

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 1 shallot minced
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 3 cans 14 oz. each green beans
  • 1 Tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Cut the bacon into 1 inch pieces. Add the bacon to a skillet over medium heat.
  • Saute for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the bacon has browned.   Remove to a paper towel lined plate.
  • Remove all but 2 tablespoons of bacon grease from the pan.  Return the pan to medium heat and add the shallot and garlic.  Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently so that it does not burn.
  • Add the green beans to the pan and cook for 3-5 minutes or until heated through.
  • Add the butter, salt, and pepper, and heat until the butter has melted.  
  • Stir in the bacon and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and serve immediately.
