In a medium bowl combine the cinnamon, coriander, cardamom, ginger, sugar, flour, and baking soda. Mix well and set aside.
In a large bowl cream together the butter, brown sugar, and salt.
Add in the corn syrup and vanilla and mix well.
Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
Add the water and stir until a dough forms.
Sprinkle a surface with flour and roll the dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut the dough into circles or squares and place on cookie sheets.
Chill dough for 15 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Remove cookie sheets from refrigerator and bake in the oven for 15-18 minutes.
Remove from the oven and cool for 5 minutes on the cookie sheets before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
