1 Hour Soft Dinner Rolls

My 1 Hour Soft Dinner Rolls are ready from start to finish in only one hour and have a buttery finish.

Ingredients

  • 1 c. water
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • 1 Tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • Extra butter and salt

Instructions

  • Place the water, butter, milk, and honey in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 45 seconds.  Remove from the microwave and stir well. Heat in 15 second intervals
    until the mixture is warm but not hot. 
  • Pour the mixture into a large bowl and sprinkle in the yeast.  Give it a stir then let it stand for 5 minutes or until it starts foaming.
  • Add 3 ½ cups of the flour into the yeast mixture along with the salt. Mix well until combined.  If the dough is still sticky add in another ¼ cup and mix well.  If the dough is still sticky add in another ¼ cup and mix well.
  • Turn the dough onto a floured covered surface and knead for 5 minutes.
  • Put the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 15 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into 10-12 pieces and gently shape into balls.  Place in a greased 9 x 13 baking dish.
  • Cover and let rise for 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  • Melt a tablespoon of butter in the microwave and brush over top of the rolls.  Sprinkle with sea salt. 
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the tops start turning brown. 
  • Remove from oven and brush with more butter and sea salt.
