Ingredients

  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 Tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 oz. beer
  • 6 pieces of mild white fish
  • 1/3 c. vegetable oil

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl combine the flour, cornstarch, sugar, salt, baking powder, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper. Slowly pour in the beer and whisk until fairly smooth. Set aside.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Check to see if it's hot.
  • Dip two or three pieces of fish into the batter making sure to cover the fish. Allow the excess to drip off and quickly put the fish into the pan.
  • Fry the fish for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown. Remove the fish from the oil and place on a paper towel lined plate. Repeat with remaining fish.
  • Serve while hot.
