To make the streusel combine the flour, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, and salt together in a bowl.
Add in the butter and mix until a crumble forms. Set aside.
Cut the pears removing the core. Cut into 1/2 inch cubes.
In a medium skillet heat the butter and brown sugar over medium heat.
Add the pears to the skillet and cook for 6-8 minutes, stirring frequently.
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla paste. Let cool for 5 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a loaf pan with cooking spray and set aside.
In a medium bowl combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In a large bowl combine the butter and eggs. MIx well to combine.
Add in the pear mixture and mix until just combined.
Add the flour mixture to the pear mixture and mix until it starts combining. Stir in the milk and mix until the batter just comes together.
Pour the batter into the loaf pan and sprinkle the top with all of the streusel.
Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
Cool on a baking rack for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing and serving.
