Homemade granola never tasted as good as it does with BACON in it!

Crunchy Bacon Granola

A traditional granola taken up a notch with crispy bacon in the mix!

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bacon
  • 2 c. oats
  • 1/2 c. flax seeds
  • 1/2 c. sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 c. walnuts chopped
  • 1/2 c. sliced almonds
  • 1/4 c. coconut oil
  • 1/3 c. honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 c. pitted dates sliced

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Cook the bacon until done but not crispy. Chop into small pieces and set aside.
  • In a large bowl combine the oats, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, walnuts, almonds, bacon. Set aside.
  • In a small saucepan combine the coconut oil, honey, and cinnamon. Cook until just warm and pour over top of the oat mixture. Add in 1-2 teaspoons of the bacon grease as well as the sea salt and mix well to combine.
  • Pour the granola onto a greased baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
  • Remove from the oven and stir in the dates. Allow to cool for 20 minutes.
  • Break into pieces and store in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
