Double Chocolate Red Wine Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter 1/2 cup room temperature
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 c. sweet red wine I used Gallo Family Vineyards Sweet Red
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 c. chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray 3 small loaf pans with cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl combine the butter, brown sugar, and sugar. Mix until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing until combined.
  • Add in the red wine and vanilla and mix until combined
  • In a medium bowl combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix well.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips. Fill the small loaf pans 1/2-3/4 of the way full. Place the paper loaf pans on a baking sheet and bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. (If you are making the bread in a regular sized loaf pan bake for 1 hour).
  • Remove from the oven and cool on a wire rack.
