Boil one cup of water. Steep the black tea in the boiling water for 5 minutes. Remove tea bag and cool completely.
To make the brown sugar syrup combine the hot water with the brown sugar and cinnamon if using. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
Place the ice in a short glass. Pour the brown sugar syrup into the glass.
Slowly pour the milk on top of the ice.
Slowly pour the cooled black tea on top of the milk.
Stir before drinking.
