You don't need to be making Indian food to enjoy Naan! This flatbread only takes a few minutes to bake and it's delicious when brushed with garlic butter.

Whip up a batch of this quick oven baked bread brushed with garlic ghee.

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 c. whole milk
  • 1/4 c. sour cream or plain yogurt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. ghee
  • 4 garlic cloves minced

Instructions

  • In a large bowl combine the flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix well and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl whisk together the milk, sour cream, and egg.
  • Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture and mix until a dough forms.
  • Dump the dough onto a flour dusted surface and knead for 5 minutes.
  • Place in a bowl sprayed with baking spray and cover for 30 minutes.
  • Turn on the broiler in the oven.
  • Divide the dough into 8 pieces. Roll out each piece into a teardrop shape that is 8 inches long and 6 inches wide at the widest point. Brush with ghee.
  • Place two pieces of Naan on a baking sheet and broil for 1-2 minutes per side, flipping once the one side is bubbling and browned.
  • Remove the Naan from the pan and brush with the ghee mixed with garlic cloves.
