Pizza with Red Onion, Bacon, Peppers, and Arugula

Ingredients

  • 1 refrigerated pizza dough
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 bell pepper chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/4 red onion sliced
  • 1 c. marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 c. mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1 c. arugula

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
  • Spread the dough into a pizza pan and set aside.
  • In a large skillet cook the bacon over medium heat until brown, about 5-6 minutes. Remove from pan and place on a paper towel lined plate. Crumble.
  • Add the garlic and bell pepper to the bacon drippings in the skillet and saute for 4-5 minutes or until softened. Remove from heat.
  • Bake the pizza crust for 5 minutes in the oven.
  • Remove and spread the marinara sauce over top of the crust. Sprinkle with the cheese.
  • Place the crumbled bacon, peppers, and raw red onions on top of the cheese.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until cheese is melted and crust is crispy.
  • Remove from oven and top with the arugula.
