Ingredients

  • 1 ⅓ c. flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ c. 1 stick butter
  • c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • ½ c. sour cream
  • ½ c. milk
  • 24 edible eyes
  • 1/4 c. slivered almonds
  • 2 Tablespoons corn syrup
  • red food coloring.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Spray a donut pan with cooking spray and set aside.
  • In a large bowl combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.  Mix well and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl cream together the butter and sugar.  Add in the eggs and vanilla and mix well.
  • Stir in the milk and sour cream until well mixed.
  • Add the butter mixture to the flour mixture and mix well.
  • Pour the batter into a zip top baggie. Snip off the end and pipe the batter into the donut pan.
  • Bake for 10 minutes. Allow to cool for 2 minutes in the pan and then remove to a wire rack and cool completely.
  • Combine the corn syrup with a few drop of red food coloring and mix well.
  • Place two dots of the cron syrup mixture on top of the donut and place the eyes on top of them. (You can also use a little bit of powdered sugar with water for this step).
  • Place several almond slivers on each side of the hole of the donut to create the fangs. You may need to cut them so that they fit. Simply press them into the donut.
  • Use a toothpick and put a drizzle of red corn syrup "blood" coming down from the fangs. You can also put a few random spatters on the donut.
  • Allow the donuts to set for 15 minutes before enjoying.
