Sometimes on the weekends I like to have a drink. Usually it’s just a glass of wine or a glass of champagne. Something simple to start off the weekend.
Other times I go to the liquor store on a Friday evening and look at the mini bottles up by the cash register. I’m always looking for something different to try. Whenever I find something I buy it and bring it home then look for recipes using it. This past week I found Hibiscus vodka and just had to buy a miniature bottle of it.
Hibiscus is a flower. I’ve had it in tea before and I liked the floral yet fruity notes so I wanted to give it a try. Absolut Hibiskus is flavored with both hibiscus and pomegranate. Just hearing those flavors led me to look for a cosmopolitan using this vodka.
I found one right away. It has just a few ingredients and turns out to be a pale pink color. I edged the rim with bright pink sugar, poured in the cosmo, and garnished it with an orange peel. It’s a really pretty drink and it tastes good too. It’s tart and fruity and perfect for girls night in. It’s also a fun drink to make for company.
