Yesterday was a big day in college basketball.   It was the day everyone filled out their college basketball bracket.   It’s a big deal every March and I know one family member who was more then ready for it.   I called my dad early yesterday morning and he told me his day consisted of a little bit of work and a whole lot of basketball.   He’s the biggest basketball fan in our family so I knew he’d be watching it most of the day Sunday.  When I asked him who he thought was going to win the tournament he said he had to go with the favorite because they haven’t lost a game.

Cheesy Chicken Ranch Dip with Cheez-It Crunch'd

Do you enjoy watching basketball every March?  It’s always exciting to watch the teams in the tournament.  Of course my favorite part isn’t necessarily the actual game but the snacks I make while enjoying the game.   Yesterday I made a cheesy chicken ranch dip topped with Cheez-It Crunch’d and served with Cheez-It Grooves.   Is it a lot of cheese?   It is, but there are two big cheese lovers in this house and we enjoyed every bit.  Plus, if my dad comes down later on this week I wanted to make sure it was good enough to serve him while watching the basketball games (it is!)

Cheez-It Crunch'd and Cheez-It Grooves are a delicious snack perfect for watching basketball

I’ve never had Cheez-It Crunch’d or Cheez-It Grooves until this past week.   We drove to the nearest city and headed to Target since we don’t have one in our town.  While there I saw that Cheez-Its were on sale for 3/$8 at Target.  Needless to say I bought 2 boxes of Cheez-It Grooves and one bag of Cheez-It Crunch’d.  It’s a good thing I bought that amount because they are so good!

I wanted to taste test the different types of Cheez-Its before I started using them as a basketball snack.  I’m glad I bought two boxes of Cheez-It Grooves because my husband and I ate most of one box over a period of three days.  They are like a combination between a chip and a cracker and are awesome.   They are great by themselves but my husband was adding a slice of cheese to them as well.  They are firm so I thought they would make a good dipper for a hot dip.

It's Match and that means basketball! Enjoy the games with this awesome Cheesy Chicken Ranch Dip

I decided it would be fun to make a Cheesy Chicken Ranch Dip and top it off with the Cheez-It Crunch’d.  They are puffed, cheesy, and crunchy and my thought was that I could arrange them on top of the dip to make a basketball.

Tasty and delicious Cheesy Chicken Ranch Dip

I was all about the orange for basketball season.  I baked my cheesy chicken ranch dip in an orange dish, I topped it off with orange Cheez-It Crunch’d, and served it with orange Cheez-It Grooves.   It was the perfect cheesy dip to enjoy while watching basketball.  It’s great for adults and for kids.  It’s creamy, it’s cheesy, and it’s full of fried chicken.  What more could you want in a dip?

  2. I am not a basketball fan, but my husband loves it. Well, he loves most sports. He’s very good at predicting who will win them too. I do love the snacks that go along with the sports though. This sounds great!!

  3. I just filled out my brackets this morning, and now I am ready for the games to start! But first I need to come up with some tasty gametime snacks…and this dip looks awesome! I love the Cheez-It addition. Thanks for sharing! #client
