It's officially summer and I'm back with another Meal Plan Mondays! This is week number 19 and I'm sharing a lot of grilling recipes this week.
Once summer hits we grill at least three times a week. It's so easy to just get a protein out of the freezer, thaw it, then marinade it in a baggie for a few hours.
Since a lot of my friends go camping in the summer as well I've been thinking about camping recipes. Yesterday I shared an awesome campfire dessert and today I'm sharing a foil packet potato dish and a grilled sausage recipe that would be great over a campfire.
I haven't been camping in years but I know that a lot of people grill their food when they go camping then take cold side dishes along. Two of the side dishes this week would be great for a camping trip.
I don't like heating the kitchen up either so we often just have some snack foods around to nibble on throughout the day. These might include cheese and crackers, pita or veggies and hummus, and veggies with dip. We also tend to have pretzels, nuts, and cereal to grab when we want.
Our son has his own set of snacks that he can ask for. He tends to eat pretzels, blueberries, goldfish crackers, and cheese as his snacks which are all also easy to grab and don't have to be cooked.
So this week I'm sharing three grilled entrees including a Grilled filet, a Grilled Sausage with Bacon, BBQ, and Bourbon, and a Wine Marinated Flank Steak. Then we're serving up a buffalo chicken grilled cheese and an easy Skillet Chicken.
For side dishes I have foil packet potatoes, patriotic potatoes, and an awesome cole slaw recipe. For dessert we've got an amazing tropical icebox cake and a brown sugar pie. I'm rounding dessert out with my caramel vanilla cupcakes.
Finally we come to the bonus recipes. I have my favorite recipe for jazzing up store bought hummus and tasty baked mozzarella sticks. Then sip on a Berry Lemon Cocktail Float to end the evening.
So what are you waiting for? Get ready to plan your menu for the week!
