Cold weather is coming and that means no more cold sandwiches and salads for me for lunch. When the weather is warm I don’t mind eating a cold lunch but once the temperature drops below 50 degrees, I like to warm up during the day with a warm and hearty lunch.
During the work week I get 30 minutes for lunch. Often times this turns into less then 30 minutes because I’m dealing with an issue or I have to get something done before I can eat. This means I don’t have much time to actually prepare a lunch. Sometimes I bring in leftovers and other times I’ll eat a frozen entree but even then it takes 4-5 minutes to heat up a meal.
That’s where new Progress Soup Bistro Cups come in. I’m lucky enough to be able to buy these Progress Soup Bistro Cups in my local grocery store because they are only available in the Northeast currently. The Bistro Cups work with Keurig machines. This is great because I have a Keurig 2.0 at home and we have a Keurig at work. Using the Bistro Cups, I can have a hot and hearty lunch ready in under 2 minutes.
The Progresso Soup Bistro Cups come in 3 tasty flavors including Tomato Parmesan, Broccoli & Cheese, and Creamy Southwestern. Each box contains 3 servings of soup. To make the soup you simply pour the soup mix pouch into a 16 ounce mug and place it under your Keurig machine.
Next you put the Bistro Cup into the Keurig. Select the 8 ounce setting and brew the Bistro Cup. Then I simply stirred until the soup with was blended and let it stand for 1 minute to thicken. That’s it! It takes less then 2 minutes to get a delicious cup of soup.
I’ve tried all three flavors and my favorite is the broccoli and cheese soup. It’s thick, it’s creamy, and it has a lot of great flavor. I like how fast it is to make a mug of soup and how filling they are. I simply need a few crackers to go along with the soup and lunch is served.
Since the Progresso Soup Bistro Cups are so easy to make I’ve bought 2 boxes to keep in my cupboard at school for days when I don’t have much time to eat. Often times I’ll grab a bag of chips or some crackers when I don’t have time to eat but with the Bistro Cups I’ll always have time for a cup of soup.
I’ve also bought a box of the Broccoli & Cheese and a box of the Creamy Tomato & Parmesan to keep at home. I figure when my husband and I are home on the weekends and are complaining there is nothing to eat for lunch we can simply make ourselves a cup of soup. Plus, the Creamy Tomato & Parmesan is the perfect accompaniment for a grilled cheese sandwich on a cold day.
