The holidays are always a time when I find myself hosting parties, attending parties, and getting together with family and friends. Everyone is always focused on the food for these occasions and while I do love food, I think every holiday get together needs a few fun and festive holiday beverages. That’s why this year I’ve created a cocktail recipe using Diet Canada Dry Ginger Ale® and a mocktail recipe using 7UP®.
Canada Dry Ginger Ale® and 7UP® are great bases for just about any drink recipe because they have a delicious flavor and they are nearly colorless so they take on whatever fun color you’d like to create for your beverage! I was able to find just about everything I needed for both of my beverages at my local Walmart store. I picked up a bottle of Diet Canada Dry Ginger Ale®, a bottle of 7UP®, some orange juice, cranberry juice, one orange, and a bag of fresh cranberries.
I came up with the mocktail recipe first using a popular blue cocktail recipe I’ve been enjoying this holiday. It’s a simple holiday drink recipe that can be enjoyed by adults and children a like. It is simply a combination of orange juice, 7UP®, and green sprinkles. While there is nothing actually blue in this drink, adding a touch of blue food coloring to the orange juice makes it a super fun bluish green color. I added green sprinkles to the rim to give it a more festive look and served it with an orange slice.
Blue Sparkler Mocktail
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz. orange juice
- 5 oz. 7UP®
- 1 drop blue food coloring
- 1 orange slice
- green sprinkles
Instructions
- Fill a shaker with ice. Pour in the orange juice, 7UP®, and blue food coloring. Shake for 30 second or until combined.
- Meanwhile, run the orange slice around the rim of a tall glass. Dip the rim into the green sprinkles.
- Fill the glass with ice and pour in the mocktail. Serve with a fun straw.

The Cranberry Ginger Champagne Cocktail idea came from these amazing cranberry ginger margaritas I had last weekend. Instead of using fresh ginger (which can be a pain to grate), I used Diet Canada Dry Ginger Ale®. I pour the Ginger Ale, cranberry juice, and champagne into a champagne flute rimmed with sparkling red sprinkles. Then I added a few fresh cranberries to the glass. This is such a pretty and flavorful cocktail perfect for the holidays.

Here’s a quick tip on making the Cranberry Ginger Champagne Cocktails ahead of time. Simply rim your champagne glasses with red sprinkles, add the cranberry juice and Canada Dry Ginger Ale®, and set on a table along with a bottle of chilled champagne and a bowl of fresh cranberries. The Blue Sparkler Mocktails can be made ahead of time in a large pitcher set beside glasses rimmed with the green sprinkles.
So whether you are looking to serve cocktails or a mocktails this holiday, either one of these recipes would be a hit! All of my family and friends who have tried them have really enjoyed them both.

Thanks for a mocktail drink. My husband and I don’t drink anymore, so I really appreciate a non alcoholic option.
