A year or two ago I was all about the homemade sodas. I had so much fun making a variety of different types of sodas that I ended up drinking all summer long. My favorite had to be the homemade gingerale because I could adjust the sweetness to my preference.
I haven’t made any homemade sodas in at least a year and when I got a shipment of fun flavors from Torani I knew it was high time to make one! I was looking for something perfect for a brunch and this Peach Guava Italian Soda came to mind. With tropical fruit flavors and sparkling water this soda is fancy enough for a brunch but chill enough for all of your summer gatherings.
Making your own soda is a fun adventure in that you can tweak the flavors and sugar to your liking. Instead of simply leaving this one at peach and guava I added a splash of lemon and a shake of nutmeg to this one. It was so bright and fruity that I could almost picture myself sitting at the beach sipping on it!
In order to make this soda I used Torani Peach Syrup, Torani Guava syrup, fresh lemon, nutmeg, and sparkling water all mixed together in JoyJolt Stella Highball Glasses. I love these glasses because they are so versatile. They are casual enough to use for everyday water glasses but are made from crystal and so are fancy enough for cocktails!
When I use all fresh fruit I usually have to add in simple syrup but because the Torani syrups are sweetened I didn’t have to add in any additional sweetener. Prefer iced tea to soda? Simply substitute fresh brewed tea for the sparkling water! I love how versatile this recipe is!
- 2 T. Torani Peach Syrup
- 2 T. Torani Guava Syrup
- 2 T. fresh squeezed lemon juice
- ½ t. nutmeg
- 12 oz. sparkling water
- Fill two highball glasses with ice and set aside.
- In a separate cup combine the peach syrup, guava syrup, lemon juice, and nutmeg. Mix well to combine.
- Pour half of the fruit mixture into one of the glasses and half into the other.
- Pour 6 ounces of sparkling water into each glass on top of the fruit mixture.
- Place a paper straw in the glass and give it a stir. Enjoy!
