These Black Cat Cookies are almost too cute to eat! Made with chocolate sandwich cookies and colorful candy melts, each one is decorated to look like a mischievous little feline. They are perfect for Halloween parties or spooky movie nights!

I love making fun desserts for the holidays. With Halloween coming up I’ve been busy working on some spooky looking treats.Â
While it’s fun to make layered cakes, cupcakes, and other baked desserts, sometimes I like to find easy no bake solutions for the holidays.Â
In the past I’ve made these scary Frankenstein Rice Krispies Treats that don’t take long to make and kids can help decorate. As a super creepy yet healthy treat I make Monster Mouths out of fruit. Halloween Haystacks come in a variety of fun colors and have that sweet and salty flavor.Â
This time I went looking for something different that I don’t have in my recipe collection. I came up with Black Cat Cookies.Â
Black cat cookies are made with chocolate sandwich cookies that you buy at the store. I used the ones with vanilla cream in the middle but you can buy them with any type of filling. It’s the black exterior that you really need.Â

Can I use a different type of cookie?
Yes, as long as its round and chocolate you can use it. Some good substitutes would be chocolate shortbread rounds or Nabisco’s Famous Chocolate wafers.
Basically all you need besides the cookies are colored candy melts.  You can also decide on what you want to use for the ears. Chocolate chips work or pink heart sprinkles turned upside down worked.
You can also use the candy melts for the cats nose or use a heart shaped sprinkle. I bought a pack of heart sprinkles that had several colors and used a darker pink for the cats nose and a lighter pink for its ears.Â
For the eyes you can either use candy eyes or candy melts. I only had white candy eyes and wanted yellow cat eyes so I went with the candy melts.Â

Ingredients:
- chocolate sandwich cookies
- heart shaped sprinkles
- black candy melts
- yellow candy melts
- candy eyes (optional)
To make the cat cookies first melt the candy melts.  Put a dot of candy in the middle of the cookie and put a heart shaped sprinkle on for the nose. Put two dots of candy melts on the top of the cookie and place upside down heart sprinkles for the ears.Â
Pipe on black whiskers. If using candy eyes put a dot of melted candy above the nose and put on the eyes. Otherwise, put two small yellow candy circles on each cookie. Place a black dot in the middle of each.Â
These turned out so cute!  I loved how much they looked like cats. I thought they would be a fun and easy to make no bake treat for Halloween.Â

Can I use different colors for the eyes and whiskers?
Sure! Use whatever colors you would like. Make the whiskers white so they stand out more. Make glowing green eyes on the cat. You can also make different cats with different colored eyes.Â
I thought these would also be cute as a classroom treat at school. You could put two in a little bag and hand them out. They would also be fun in a Halloween treat bag.Â
