February is here and while that means the end of football season, there is still plenty of time left in basketball season.  One of my favorite parts of watching any sports on TV is the food.   You can’t have game day without the grub!

Game Day Grub gets awesome with Alexia fries and onion rings with dipping sauces!

One of my favorite things to make on game day is a variety of different dips.   Sometimes I serve them with tortilla chips, other times I serve them with veggies, but for today, I’m serving my dips with Alexia Classic Cut Crinkle Fries and Alexia Onion Rings.

Alexia Crispy Onion Rings and Classic Crinkle Cut Fries

I’ll be honest, I often find store bought Onion Rings to be soggy and lacking in flavor.  That is not the case with Alexia Onion Rings.   I headed over to Walmart and found these crispy delights in the freezer section.   I also found the Alexia Classic Cut Crinkle Fries and got the last bag of them!   It wasn’t easy.  They were up on the top shelf and all the way in the back.   I managed to pull myself up on the shelf and reach in the back to snag the last bag.   Let me tell you, it was totally worth it.

I often buy Alexia products because they are higher quality then other brands I can find.   The Onion Rings are a combination of sweet Spanish onions with a delicate all-natural Japanese style breading which gives them a light, crispy texture.  The Classic Crinkle Cut Fries are 98% fat free have just 100 calories per serving. They are  extra crunchy thanks to the crispy ridges, and are roasted with sea salt for an added flavor.Alexia Onion Rings with Sriracha Mayo

Even though both of these products are awesome on their own, it’s fun to make dipping sauces to go with them for game day.   I made a tasty Sriracha mayonnaise sauce to dip the onion rings in and a Jalapeno Cheddar Dip for the french fries.

It’s easy to make both of these dips while the fries and onion rings are cooking in the oven.   The cheese dip takes a little bit longer so I like to start with that one.  It starts with a roux then half and half is added to make a thick sauce.  Finally cheddar cheese and jalapenos are added to finish off the dip.   It makes for a thick and delicious cheese dip that is spicy and works perfectly with the crispy crinkle fries.

The Sriracha Mayonnaise is simply combined in a small bowl.  It’s a spicy yet cool sauce that works wonders with the crunchy onion rings.   My husband and I totally enjoyed the fries, onion rings, and dips while watching the games on TV.   They are such an easy appetizer and one that is great to make whenever people come over because they don’t take long.
