I try to live an active lifestyle. Several days a week after school I do some form of aerobic activity. On the weekends I try to get up early, run my errands, and go to the gym. In either case if I don’t eat anything before exercising I’m starving by the time I’m finished. I try to eat something small but healthy before I go but my choices are always limited. Either a product has way too many calories or I don’t like the ingredient list.
Last week before my zumba class I stopped at Walmart to try and find a quick but healthy snack I could eat in the car on the way to class. I usually check near the registers because they have easy snacks to grab and go. I saw a product called Lorissa’s Kitchen and I was intrigued.
Lorissa’s Kitchen is a product that uses either grass-fed beef or responsibly raised pork. It comes in three delicious flavors. There is Lorissa’s Kitchen Korean Barbeque Beef, Lorissa’s Kitchen Sweet Chili Pork, and Lorissa’s Kitchen Szechuan Peppercorn Beef. All three sounded delicious so I picked up a bag of each. I ate part of the Lorissa’s Kitchen Szechuan Peppercorn Beef on the way to aerobics. I loved the flavor of it and the fact that it was a healthy snack that helped fuel my exercise for the night.

Once I got home I was able to learn more about the product. The ingredient list is small because Lorissa’s Kitchen is high in protein, low in carbs, low in fat, has no MSG, no preservatives and is gluten free. I could actually read and pronounce every ingredient!
When my husband saw it on the table he ate the remainder of the Lorissa’s Kitchen Szechuan Peppercorn Beef. He then promptly took a picture of the bag and sent it to our friend who eats gluten free and tries to eat foods without preservatives.
The next afternoon I planned on running errands and going to the gym. I wanted a healthy snack that would keep me going during my entire trip. I had already decided I wanted to try the Lorissa’s Kitchen Korean Barbeque Beef. I then took out a few ingredients to make a healthy vanilla latte smoothie.
The vanilla latte smoothie was made with coffee flavored yogurt, vanilla flavored almond milk, honey, and ice. It was simple and delicious. I poured it in a tall glass along with a handful of the Lorissa’s Kitchen Korean Barbeque Beef and I was full. It was a tasty, high protein snack that kept me energized all afternoon.

Heather, that’s a tasty assortment! And I like the look of that smoothie — coffee and vanilla, a great combination! Time to fire up the blender.
Thanks! It’s such an easy to make smoothie!
I love smoothies! It seems like the sweetness of this one would pair perfectly with the Korean BBQ.
