Back when I was a kid one of my favorite things about camping was the s’mores. When I went to girl scout camp we made s’mores at night over a campfire. When I went camping with my family we always made s’mores over the campfire. Even when I was in college and went to choir camp we made s’mores over the fire. It’s just one of those rites of passage that everyone does whenever there is a fire.
While there is simply no substitute for s’mores over a campfire there are other ways to make s’mores. I’ve made them on the grill, in the oven, and even in the microwave. As long as they include chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers or something similar to these they are delicious. I’ll take them whenever I can get them, even as an adult.
This recipe for Fudge Stripe S’mores is super easy and can be customized to any holiday or event. There are only two main ingredients and then decorations as needed. It simply takes two Fudge Stripe cookies and one large marshmallow to make these fun and tasty treats.
I made several of them at one time and then rolled the marshmallow in different colored sprinkles. I did red, white, and blue for a patriotic holiday and gold for a more upscale event. Then I left another one plain because they are really good even without the sprinkles.
So if you camping trip gets rained out or you are just looking for an easy way to get the taste of s’mores make sure you give these Fudge Stripe S’mores a try!
