Green Gooey Goop

This is a cute book for children.  It’s about a little girl who gets a plate of green food.  Her mom serves her all types of green food.  Many of them are mentioned by name which I think is good for children.  The pictures are fun as well.  This is a rhyming book so kids will like the rhythm.

The only thing I really had a problem with was the vocabulary.  There were at least 5 words that children 8 and under would  not know and would not be in their regular vocabulary. Examples of these words are nauseous and chartreuse.   Parents may want to talk about the words before hand so that the child can enjoy the book.  Also, the book ends abruptly.  There is no real ending too it so I didn’t know what happened.

I think it’s a cute book that children would enjoy overall.

I give this book 3 out of 5 stars.
