Delicious homemade white hot chocolate made using melted candy corns then is topped off with whipped cream and more candy corns.
Candy corn is one of those foods that people either love or love to hate. I don’t really think there is any middle ground on this popular Halloween candy.
I’m in the I love candy corn category. Now the older I get the less of it I can eat because it is super sweet but I always buy a bag around Halloween. Usually I end up using half a bag for a recipe and eat the remaining candy corn.
This year I saw a recipe for candy corn hot chocolate and thought that would be an awesome way to use my candy corn. The candy corn is actually melted and poured into the homemade hot chocolate which I thought was an interesting idea.
Ingredients:
- candy corn
- water
- whole milk
- white chocolate chips
- whipped cream
To Make the Hot Chocolate: Add water and candy corn to a microwave safe dish. Heat for 90 seconds then stir. Set aside. In a medium saucepan combine the whole milk, white chocolate chips, and the melted candy corn. Stir until everything is melted and it is hot but not boiling. Remove from stove, pour into 4 glasses, and top with whipped cream and candy corn.
The hot chocolate is just made with milk, white chocolate, and the melted candy corn. Be sure to try the hot chocolate before pouring it into mugs.
The white hot chocolate is already sweet and adding the candy corn makes it even sweeter. You may want to add additional milk to smooth it out.
Can I use milk or semi-sweet chocolate?
You can use milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips in place of the white chocolate chips. This will make the beverage less sweet and more rich. However, it won’t be the pretty orange color that it is in my photos.
Can you make this in a slow cooker?
I have not made it in a slow cooker but if you are wanting to make it for a party you can certainly keep it warm in a slow cooker. Just place it on warm and make sure to stir every 30 minutes or so.
Can I make Candy Corn Hot Chocolate ahead of time?
You can make it up to 48 hours before serving. Once made, allow it to cool then refrigerate. When ready to serve pour the mixture into a saucepan and heat over medium heat until it is smooth and hot.
I love that this hot chocolate is orange in color because you know what you are getting before you drink it. It also makes it festive for a Halloween party.
I topped mine off with whipped cream and more candy corn. It looked like the perfect Halloween hot beverage.

The fun thing about this beverage is you can go all out decorating it. Try pumpkin whipped cream on top instead of regular. Add some candy eyeballs on top to make it creepy looking. Top with your favorite Halloween candies. The possibilities are endless!
