Pumpkin Pie Parfaits are a fabulous individual holiday dessert

During the holidays we always attend several parties and host a party or two at our house instead.   I enjoy making holiday foods and  I get a lot of my holiday inspiration from the Kraft Walmart Hub.   Most times I’m asked to make dessert because it’s one of my specialties.   In the past I used to make a cake or a pie but I’ve found that making individual sized desserts is the best.   I like creating desserts that guests can pick up and eat as they mingle at a party.   This year my signature dessert is going to be individual Pumpkin Pie Parfaits.

Mrs. Smith's pies and Kraft Cool Whip are the perfect holiday pair.

I headed out to Walmart to look for the ingredients I needed for the Pumpkin Pie Parfaits.  The first thing I picked up were two Mrs. Smith’s Pumpkin Pies.  I really enjoy Mrs. Smith’s pies because the flaky crusts are made with a touch of real butter which makes a real difference in the flavor!  Since no pumpkin pie is complete without the topping, I picked up a container of Cool Whip as well.   Now to make the parfaits something special I added a package of dried cranberries and some walnuts to my cart as well.

Cool Whip and Mrs. Smith's Pies

The best way to make these parfaits is to cook the pies the day before.  Simply place them in the oven and bake until the centers are cooked through.   I then allow them to cool on a cooling rack.   The next day when I’m ready to assemble the parfaits, the pies are ready to go!

In order to make the parfaits I needed 2 sized of circular cookie cutters.   A cookie cutter isn’t necessary, but it makes it a whole lot easier.  I cut 6 small circles and 3 large circles out of each pumpkin pie.   Then I placed the Cool Whip in a zip top baggie and snipped off the end.   I made the parfaits by layering the pumpkin pie rounds, Cool Whip, dried cranberries, and walnuts in a clear glass.   On the top I sprinkled just a pinch of pumpkin pie spice.

The parfaits ended up looking beautiful.  The layers of pumpkin and Cool Whip were easy to see and the dried cranberries added a pop of color.   I added some disposable silver spoons and the look was complete.   I served them on skinny white trays and everyone loved them.  They were super delicious, fun to eat, and looked good too!   I can’t wait to make them again for our Thanksgiving dinner. How to make an easy Pumpkin Pie Parfait

  1. This looks so pretty. I agree that having the individual servings is a great way to serve so people aren’t stuck with a flimsy paper plate.
