Whenever people invite me over the first thing out of my mouth is usually what dessert do you want me to bring?   It’s not do you want me to bring dessert or what can I bring but what dessert do you want..

I’m known for my desserts and love to make and bake whenever I have time.  The problem around the holidays is that I rarely have time to do an extra baking because I’m always making goodies for family, friends, and teachers.

I also like to make homemade gifts for everyone at Christmas and that takes time.  In addition to that I often sell my holiday treats.   So by the time Christmas and New Year’s parties come around I’m looking for something easy to make.

Ingredients:

  • Box of white or yellow cake mix
  • butter
  • cream cheese
  • powdered sugar
  • champagne
  • gold sprinkles

To Make the Dip:  In a large bowl combine the butter and cream cheese.  Beat with a mixer on medium high speed until smooth.  Add in the powdered sugar and beat until combined.  Add the cake mix and champagne and mix until a dip forms.  Put the dip into a bowl and sprinkle with gold sprinkles.

This Champagne Cake Dip is the perfect holiday dessert.  It comes cake batter, frosting, and champagne into one delicious dessert.

Plus, I feel like this is a fun addition to a dessert table because by the time Christmas and New Year’s roll around people are tired of the cookies and traditional sweets.  You can pair this with so many different goodies to make it a truly unique dessert.

Can I use canned frosting?

You can totally use canned frosting.  Buy the vanilla or cream cheese flavored frosting and use 1 cup of it.  However, it only takes a few minutes to make your own and it tastes way better.

Can I use a different flavor of cake mix?

I would not.   Champagne is such a delicate flavor and it won’t shine through on heavier cake flavors like spice cake or chocolate cake.  Going for a light flavor like white or yellow is the way to go.

How long can I store this dip?

The dip can be store covered, in the refrigerator, for up to 4 days.   The longer it sits the better the flavor..   If you aren’t going to enjoy it the day you make it don’t put the gold sprinkles on top until ready to serve.

This dip is easily made in five minutes.  It can be stored in the refrigerator for several days so it’s something that can be made in advance as well.

My favorite thing to serve with this dip is a glass of bubbly and fresh strawberries.  It’s really the perfect pairing.  You can’t go wrong with strawberries, champagne, and cake.

For dipping you can go sweet and have marshmallows, graham crackers, vanilla wafers, and fresh fruit.   If you want to go more savory or salty add in some pretzels.

More Boozy Desserts:

I love the flavor of this dip.   It’s like eating cake batter with champagne mixed into it.  It just tastes decadent.

I really like the way they taste with graham crackers and the strawberries.  It’s a fun dessert and it promotes talk with others as you stand there dipping goodies into it.  It’s great for New Year’s Eve parties!
